The City of Springfield’s proposal for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Annual Action Plan is available for review. The City receives CDBG funds annually from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to address the affordable housing and community development needs of low- and moderate-income households in our community. For FY2027, Springfield estimates it will have $587,000 in CDBG funds available to allocate. A 30-day public comment period on the proposed allocation of funds is currently open and will close on April 8, 2026. Springfield’s Community Development Advisory Committee (CDAC) will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 to receive oral testimony on the City’s proposed FY 2027 CDBG Annual Action Plan. The CDAC will consider all written comments submitted during the public comment period and testimony given during public hearing regarding the use of CDBG funds and will make a recommendation to the Springfield City Council for allocation of funds.
